Q: Why should I upgrade to Windows 7?

A: Here is 10 Reasons to upgrade to Windows 7 that were published in PC Utilities Magazine (Issue 115):

"1. Virtual XP Mode The compatibility of your applications should be a problem. You now have an environment where you can continue to use older software  after upgrading to Windows 7.
2. New Taskbar The new taskbar means faster access to programs and documents. There are also live previews of running programs.
3. Hardware devices No more hunting around for installed devices and their related software programs. View all your installed hardware devices from one single window.
4. Upgrades to built-in tools For years the likes of Paint and WordPad haven't changed at all. They've now been revamped, so much so that you might actually start using them again.
5. User account control (UAC) tamed This feature of Vista was supposed to help keep your PC safe and secure but instead ending up annoying everyone. You can  now choose your sensitivity level for this tool and prevent it from being too obtrusive.

7. Improved interface Changes to the Aero interface include more transparency, enabling you to see what's going on behind a window. There is also Aero Snap, which automatically resizes window enabling you to compare them more easily.
8. Search The new and improved search tool makes finding things much easier. It means you can now find files and folders from within any open window.
9. Startup Say goodbye to long delays when booting your PC. Windows 7 has been engineered to start faster from a cold boot and from hibernation/standby.
10. Improved networking Windows 7 takes the stress out of networking making it straightforward to share documents with other users on your home network."
